I thought your book was great ! It's amazing how God has
taken your life down so many different paths, long paths. While
I was reading it I was asking myself how in the world did the Kentucky
Opry come from this. Now I know the rest of the story and the answer
is by Gods Grace and one mans love and passion to do His will. Sounds
like a song in there somewhere.

I just recently read
your book and found it to be very good. It gave me a new appreciation
for you and your families talent. We have been coming to the Opry
several times a year since 1988 and have always enjoyed the entertainment
and the clean wholesome fun. Clay, I`m looking forward to your
next book. Thanks for sharing your trials and joys with us .
Sincerely, Mary Ann
Hobbs,
Having known and known
of Clay Campbell for many years, and being a big fan of what he
has done and is continuing to do for traditional country, bluegrass,
and gospel music and those who play it, I was delighted to read
his book "Guitars, Bars, and a Prodigal Son!" As we follow Clay
from his early years in rural Missouri through all the stages of
his life, musical and otherwise, it's a great story! He's honest
and sincere in telling his story, and you come away with a greater
appreciation not only of Clay Campbell the musician and music promoter,
but even more important, Clay Campbell the man. It's a wonderful
read . . . recommend it to all!

Clay,
Having
had the privilege of reading both the draft copy and finished
copy of your book, I would like to say that enjoyed it very much.
It was well written and informative. I developed a new respect
for what it takes to start a new business. Lifestyle changes are
never easy and yours should inspire people that they, too, can
choose. Your example would be a good one to follow. Fifteen successful
years at the Kentucky Opry makes me think you are doing something
right. I pray that God will continue to bless.

The Clay Campbell Story
is as interesting as I've ever read- very well put together and
to the point. I've known Clay personally for many years now ...
and after reading this book I admire him even more. If your looking
for a book that'll inspire you to have a christian family and
learn to completely trust in God- you will thoroughly enjoy this
book. I recon it highly.

A small - town midwestern plains farm boy from humble beginnings
can make a lot of mistakes alone in the big world, and irrepressible
Clay Campbell explains that before he was guided back to God,
he was one of the best at bad decisions."
